About Georgette Fabric - Georgette is a synthetic fabric which was first created during the early twentieth century by a French dressmaker. Thanks to advances in materials and processes, a more accessible, cost-effective Viscose Georgette is now available, made using synthetic yarns. Lightweight and possessing a slightly textured, dull-finish crepe quality, the fabric's unique micro-crinkles are formed by alternating weft and warp yarns when the material is relaxed. Double Georgette is a heavier type in comparison to other variations of the fabric, as there are different weights and variants for Georgette; so this is the commonly used " Viscose Georgette" for different projects used in dressmaking and women’s wear because the drape is flowy and falls right on the body.
